Why I Started This
Serving as both lighting and costumes assistant for the POTUS production, I provided the technical foundation necessary to bridge atmospheric storytelling with character-driven design. Working closely with lead designers, I focused on reconciling historical authenticity in garments with the precision of complex light cues. This experience offered a profound perspective on the collaborative machinery of theater, reinforcing my commitment to technical excellence and artistic integrity.
What I Delivered in the Performance
I crafted these pieces with meticulous care
Scribing
Meticulously tracking and documenting costume metadata to support the lead designer and ensure precise continuity throughout the production.
Tech notetaking/ Drafting
Collaborating with the lighting lead to update complex cue sheets, including light direction and gel specifications, maintaining technical rigour during tech week.
Board Operator
Executing live lighting sequences with high attention to detail, maintaining the visual atmosphere as envisioned by the design team.
Electrician
Assisting in the comprehensive strike and inventory management, ensuring all lighting assets were accounted for post-production.
